They are joined by director Jennifer Sheridan, who is known for her film Rose (2020) and the TV shows Rules of the Game (2022) & The Snow Spider (2020).
Dustin interviews Jennifer & Giles about their journey as a director, their stories behind their first feature films, how they raised the money and how they spoke to distributors. They also discuss how they got their agents, how they got a good cast, film festivals, the importance of being bold, and many audience questions.

On today’s show, we welcome the incredible writer-director- actor -VFX Nicholas Ashe Bateman to talk about his debut film, The Wanting Mare! His VFX credits include films such as A24’s The Green Knight (2021), Breaking Bread (2020), Free Solo (2018), and many more.
He chatted with our hosts Giles Alderson & Dom Lenoir about how he got started in this crazy business, how he got into VFX, dodgy producers, and how he made his first short films. He also talks about mental health, how he pushed through in difficult times, as well as the importance of collaboration and his work on the Green Knight.
Nicholas obviously talks about how he made The Wanting Mare: Not only does he discuss how he financed the movie and how he set up his own production company but also about directing actors, the difference between 2D and 3D effects, digital matte painting, and shares some lovely tips and tricks for upcoming directors and VFX artists.

The Duke is directed by the late Roger Michell, who sadly passed away last year, starring Jim Broadbent, Helen Mirren, Heather Craney, Stephen Rashbrook and many more.
Nicky chatted with our host Dom Lenoir about her journey into producing, developing a script that is based on a true story, finding the right cast and what it’s like to produce a big film such as The Duke.

Today, we have the second part of our Cyrano (2022) interviews, featuring Peter Dinklage and Kelvin Harrison Jr.
Kelvin is known for The Trial of The Chicago 7 (2020), Waves (2019), Godfather of Harlem (2019), and It Comes at Night (2017) to name a few. He talks with our hosts Giles Alderson and Dom Lenoir about how he prepares for a role, finding characters, blocking, what he looks for in a role and working with Joe Wright, the director of Cyrano.
Peter is obviously known for playing one of the main roles in one of the biggest TV shows of all time, Game of Thrones (2011-2019), but he also starred in Netflix’s I Care a Lot (2020), Avengers 3: Infinity War (2018), Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017), X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014), The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (2008), and many more. He talks about what he looks for in a director, his producing work, stunts, why he wanted to do Cyrano in the first place, and the difference between the role on stage vs in the film.

Giles, Tori and Matt sat down with Sir Ian at his wonderful home to dive deep into his long acting career: Ian talks about when his love for theatre and movies began, the difference between acting on stage vs in front of the camera, and whether he watches his films.
He also discusses what he’s looking for in a director, how he produced his film Richard III (1995), and his favourite and most challenging roles. He talks about the first film he has ever acted in that was never released, how you as filmmakers can approach him, and why it’s easier than ever to make a film.

Today on the show, Giles Alderson and fellow host Dom Lenoir welcome the team behind the incredible and hugely important film The Killing of Kenneth Chamberlain that is based on the true story of the events leading up to the death of Kenneth Chamberlain Sr.: Writer-director-producer David Midell and actor-producer Enrico Natale.
They dive deep into the making of their feature film: How they found the story, how they reached out not only to the Kenneth Chamberlain’s family but also to the police, and how they dealt with making a film based on real events with a sensitive topic like this.
David not only talks about how he wrote the script, but also about directing the actors, mental health, and how they shot the movie. Enrico talks about his experience on set, what it was like working with the one and only Frankie Faison, how the Morgan Freeman came on board as an executive producer, and how the film was received at festivals. AND they share what it was like to watch the film with Kenneth Chamberlain’s family.

Today, Giles Alderson and co-host Dom Lenoir welcome not one but two amazing guests to this very special episode. First, they talk to the one and only Joe Wright! Yes, that’s right, Joe Wright, the director of films such as Pride & Prejudice (2005), Hanna (2011), Anna Karenina (2012), Darkest Hour (2017), and The Woman in the Window (2021). But today he’s here to talk about his latest film, Cyrano, starring Peter Dinklage, Haley Bennett, Kelvin Harrison Jr. and many more. He talks about how he gets great performances, the importance of rehearsals, what he’s looking for in an actor, working with the same crew and how he preps a movie.
And then, Giles and Dom had the pleasure of speaking to the screenwriter of Cyrano, Erica Schmidt. She has never written a screenplay before, but she has written a lot of plays. That is why she talks about her work and life as a playwriter, the challenges of turning a stage play into a film script, how the film came about, and she discusses what she learned from being on set.
